We have been doing an agricultural project with the Ruhuha solace survivors group, funded by Vegfam. Support was given for land, crops and tools in the hope and expectation that the project would help build hope and sustainability in the group. The group is mainly composed of young adults who were orphaned in the genocide and have few or no relatives to help them get established in life as adults so we hope this is a help to them. Here are the harvesters with the cassava crop and here is the harvest of cassava out to dry. Cassava has to be dried and soaked before it can be eaten or it is poisonous! We thank God for the harvest!
Comfort Rwanda was established in 1999, five years after the genocide of 1994 in order to help Rwandan Christian partners in their work of healing and support for the survivors of the genocide. The charity partners two indigenous Rwandan organisations Solace Ministries and The Living Church with practical Christian based support.
