The following is a letter from one of our partners:
Dear friends,
Greetings from Kigali, Rwanda to you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and thank you for every support that you have rendered to us as a family, ministry and nation of Rwanda. We pray that the good Lord bless you continually and give you all more grace day by day.
This is just to let you know that in this month of April, when we are in preparation for the remembrance of the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, we as a nation in Rwanda are also in memory of the dark times and days that our nation experienced 17 years ago, the genocide, which took 100 days. It was 100 days of a terrible experience for the people; lives were lost that left orphans and widows.
This was a result of ethnic differences and now as our nation is being transformed through prayers and the leaders that the God Almighty has honored us with, we pray that you join us as we pray that our nation remains united and ‘’never again’’ as is the theme of the season for us, we shall never go back to the days of darkness, pain and devastation.
Not just the lives lost that left orphans and widows, HIV/AIDS also went on the rampage and lives have been claimed by this.
This commemoration started on the 7th April 2011 and will go on for the next 3 months. The government has set aside 7 days (ending on the 14th April 2011) for the people to remember those dark day and the people come together in their family cell groups to pray and pray against the past difference. Government offices are working half day so the people have enough time to meet as families.
We as a ministry have been engaged in helping the victims of the genocide, in prayer and counseling.
I will be meeting the AVEGA AGAHOZO, genocide widows association in Kamonyi District, Southern Province from the 14th to the 15th April 2011.
It’s been a very busy month here and we ask that you pray and stand with us in every way possible, even for the other nations that this ordeal may never befall them.
Thank you for your continued support in every way.
